The 2010 SPP as Approved by the PRC

The Standards of Professional Practice (SPP), promulgated by the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture (PRBoA) as part of the Supplemental Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9266 (The Architecture Act of 2004), has been approved on Tuesday, 27 July 2010 by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

It took more than six (6) years to complete the effort at repealing the 1979 SPP (already almost 31 years old to date), forming part of the IRR of the predecessor architecture laws (R.A. No. 545 of 1950, as amended by R.A. No. 1581 of 1956).

The SPP has been the result of continuing collaborations between the PRBoA and the integrated and accredited professional organization of architects (IAPOA) as well as the other associations of architects (OAAs) such as the PIA, the AAIF and the CODHASP.

The SPP is a prescribed issuance under R.A. No. 9266 for mandatory compliance/ observance by all registered and licensed architects (RLAs) in the Philippines.

The full publication of the SPP on a national broadsheet is expected within the next 10 calendar days.

For the full SPP resolution and text i.e. at ninety four (94) pages total, please refer to the Latest Publications section of this website.
